The Indonesian Pediatric Society – East Java Chapter invites 13th PIT IKA - Annual Scientific Meeting of Indonesian Pediatric Society, Malang 2025 participants to communicate their research and updates in the field of child health care in Oral and e-Poster Presentation during the symposium.

General Information

  1. All abstracts must be original work.

  2. The abstract must not have been published prior to 13th PIT IKA - Annual Scientific Meeting of Indonesian Pediatric Society.

  3. No abstracts will be considered after the closing deadline.

  4. The presenting author must be registered as Registrant of 13th PIT IKA - Annual Scientific Meeting of Indonesian Pediatric Society and completed payment prior to submitting the abstract.

  5. If unable to attend, authors should notify the Congress Secretariat to withdraw their abstract.

  6. Abstracts must only be submitted electronically before 15 August 2025 via the online submission system. Late or email submissions will not be accepted.

  7. Abstracts for Free Papers, Excellent Researcher Awards (ERA) papers and Travel Scholarship Awards (TSA) must be submitted through the same official submission portal.

  8. Once submitted, abstracts can not be modified.

  9. Acceptance (as oral or poster presentation) or rejection notifications will be sent by email before 31 August 2025 .

  10. All presentations (including e-Posters) must be delivered in person; virtual presentations (e.g., via Zoom) will not be accepted.

  11. Withdrawing an abstract after acceptance can only be decided by the committee after careful deliberation, considering the reasons

  12. Only a limited number of oral presentation slots are available.

  13. Top abstracts in both oral presentations and e-Poster will be eligible for the Best Abstract Award

  14. For participants who are not selected for the e-poster presentation, they will automatically be included as participants in the e-poster viewing session

Choose one of the following options for your abstract presentation:

  1. Oral Presentation:

    Top-scoring abstracts will be selected for full oral presentation, including the Best Abstract award.

  2. Electronic Poster:

    Only electronic posters will be accepted for moderated e-Poster sessions and e-Poster viewing.

  3. All abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the Scientific Committee, and their decision is final.

Abstract Format

  1. Language: Abstracts must be written in English.

  2. Font & Spacing: Arial font, size 12pt, and single spacing.

  3. Title:

    1. Limited to 30 words.

    2. Must be written in sentence case (only the first word capitalized, except for proper nouns) e.g., “Clinical profile of cyanotic nephropathy in children with congenital heart disease”

  4. Word Limit:

    The abstract must not exceed 300 words (including picture/table descriptions).

  7. Authors and Affiliations:

    1. Up to 15 authors are allowed per abstract, and each author can have one main and one additional affiliation

    2. Authors and affiliations should be listed after the title, with the primary author being the first mentioned and the presenting author underlined.

    3. Affiliation details in sequence for department, institution/hospital, city/state, country

    4. Authors' full names should be written by first name and followed by last name in upper and lower case.

  8. Abbreviations

    1. Avoid using abbreviations in the title and minimize in the body text.

    2. Avoid using non-standard abbreviations, unfamiliar terms, symbols or acronyms not easily understood by general readers.

    3. Non-standard abbreviations must be defined in full at their first appearance.

  9. Picture/Chart/Table Inclusion

    1. Only one picture is allowed.

    2. Pictures, charts, and tables must be inserted as a picture and submitted in .jpg format.

Background.
Cyanotic Nephropathy (CN) is spectrum of renal complications associated with Cyanotic Congenital Heart Disease (CCHD). CCHD causing chronic hypoxia in the kidney with significant proteinuria, hematuria, decreasing of Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR).

Obejctive.
This study aimed to show frequency and profiles of CN in CCHD.

Methods.
A cross sectional study was conducted with total sampling of pediatric CCHD from 1 January to 31 December 2021 at Dr Soetomo General Academic Hospital. This study include children of age ranged from 2 months to 13 years, diagnosed as CCHD, confirmed by echocardiography. Early morning urine and blood sample were taken for renal function test measurement. All data collected from medical record and using descriptive statistic for data analysis with SPSS.

Results.
Fifty-two participants participated in the study, 4 were excluded, 48 eligible participants left with 17 boys (35%) and 31 girls (64%). Mean age was 6.68 years old, oxygen saturation 67.70±11.21%. Most common CCHD were Tetralogy of Fallot (ToF) 62.5%, Double Outlet Right Ventricle (DORV) 31.25%, Dextro-Transposition of the Great Arteries (DTGA) and Truncus Arteriosus. Seventy-five percent of CCHD had renal impairment with manifestation proteinuria (45.8%), hematuria (29.1%) and decreased GFR.

Conclusion.
Children with CCHD are at increased frequencies of CN, with proteinuria as the most common renal manifestation.

Please note :
Only those registered as paid symposium participants at 13th PIT IKA - Annual Scientific Meeting of Indonesian Pediatric Society are eligible for abstract submission.

After logging in, you will see the participant dashboard. Select the Abstract menu. Next, to start the abstract submission process, please click the Submit New Abstract button at the top right.

Abstract Category, Allocation, & Presentation Type Selection

  1. On the Abstract Submission Wizard panel, select the most appropriate category, allocation, and presentation type for your abstract.

  2. Please be advised, based on the recommendation from the Scientific Section, the Committee reserves the right to change your selected category and presentation type

  3. If your abstract's allocation is for Excellent Research Awards (ERA) or Travel Scholarship Award (TSA), it will automatically be converted to Free Paper if not selected by the Committee as a Finalist / Winner

Input Authors' Data

  1. On the Managed Author Submission wizard section page, click the Add New Author button to start adding the authors' names for your abstract.

  2. In the Add New Author dialog box, enter the data for each of your abstract's authors one by one as required, and choose who will be your abstract's presenting author.

    Then press the Save Author button to save your abstract's author data. Repeat this step if you need to add more author for your abstract.

  3. You can change the authors' order, modify the presenter selection, and edit/delete authors' data in the Manage Author Data panel. To view a preview of your abstract's author input, you can see it in the Author Preview section, located at the bottom of the Manage Author Data.

Input Abstract Title

  1. You can directly type/enter your desired abstract title into the available Title Textbox, or, for a simpler method, you can copy and paste into it.

  2. Please be advised, the maximum word count for your abstract title is 30 words. If the word count exceeds this limit, your abstract will not be processed or submitted.

  3. Capitalization should only be applied to the first word (sentence case) of your abstract title, except for special words (names of people, cities, countries, etc.).

Click Next to continue to the Abstract Content Stage.

Input Abstract Content

  1. You can directly type/enter your desired abstract content (Background, Objective, Methods, Results, Conclusion) into the available Abstract Body Textbox, or for a simpler method, you can copy and paste your abstract content into it.

  2. Reminder : The abstract title and content must be written in English.
  3. Please be advised, the maximum word count for your abstract content is 300 words. Exceeding this limit, similar to the maximum word count rule for the abstract title, it will prevent your abstract from being processed or submitted.

  4. If necessary, you can format your abstract content by using the settings available in the menu within the Abstract Body Textbox area.

  5. You can add images to support your abstract by clicking the Add Images button on the Attachment panel, with the following provisions:

    1. The maximum number of images that can be added is 2.

    2. Supported image file formats are: JPG and PNG

    3. The maximum size for each uploaded file is 2 MB.

  6. You can add keywords for your abstract in the provided Keyword input field, up to a maximum of 5 keywords per abstract.

If you intend to allocate your abstract for the Excellent Research Award (ERA), you are required to include a Complete Manuscript as per the rules outlined in the following link:

EXCELLENT RESEARCH AWARDS SUBMISSION RULE.

You can upload the Complete Manuscript and Statement from the Head of Department files in the provided file input field. Both files must be in PDF format and use A4 paper size.

Reminder : The Complete Manuscript must be written in Indonesian.

Abstract Confirmation

The final stage in abstract submission is confirmation. All the abstract data you've previously provided will be displayed in full abstract format in this section, allowing you to review or make corrections if improvements are needed

If you find that all of your abstract data is accurate, you can continue your abstract submission by clicking the Submit Abstract button.

Please be advised, once your abstract has been submitted, it cannot be revised.

Therefore, if you find your abstract is not yet complete, or if there is any missing or incomplete data in any of the abstract submission stages, you can save it as a draft to continue later by clicking the Save Draft & Quit button.

After you've successfully submitted your abstract, you'll receive a notification via the email address and WhatsApp number registered in your registration data. This notification contains detailed information about your abstract submission, along with an attachment of the abstract you submitted

Next, you'll be directed to the My Abstract section page, which serves as the dashboard for the Abstract menu

My Abstract

This is the main dashboard of the Abstract page. Every abstract you create, whether already submitted (Final) or still in the drafting stage, will be displayed on this My Abstract page.

Submitted abstracts will be marked with a yellow label displaying Submitted. Abstracts with this label cannot be edited, but you can download them in PDF format by clicking the Download button on the right side.

Abstracts still in preparation are marked with a green label displaying Draft. You can edit abstracts with this label to continue the process by clicking the Edit Draft button, or if you no longer wish to keep it, you can delete it by clicking the Trash icon on the right side.

To create a new abstract, you can do so by clicking the Submit New Abstract button in the top right corner of this Abstract dashboard panel.
